A Less Wrong False Teacher?

Is there such a thing as a “less wrong” false teacher? Or have you ever said something like, “Well, he’s not as bad as this person.”?

I caught myself thinking that last night. First, we all know what a false teacher is… one who does not preach the gospel. One who is, as some put it, gospel light. Or any number of movements out there – the Health, Wealth & Prosperity Gospel, the Word of Faith movement, Continue reading

False Teachers

Here is a video to think about from Paul Washer.

He says (and I completely agree with based on Biblical fact) that,

“False teachers are God’s judgment on people who don’t want God but in the name of religion plan on getting everything their carnal heart desires.”

“He [Joel Osteen and all the rest] is the judgment of God upon them [people under false teaching] because they want exactly what he wants, and it is not God!”

Think about that…

A Quick Word

“For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths.” – 2 Timothy 4:3-4

“…and my speech and my message were not in plausible words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, that your faith might not rest in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.” – 1 Corinthians 2:4-5

What is “sound teaching?” I would suggest that sound teaching is that which is based on Biblical truth; teaching which is from the Bible – the whole Bible. We can’t omit parts of the Bible because it doesn’t sound positive enough. Continue reading

Shocking Message

I had all this commentary I thought about writing, but this video speaks for itself. (7 minutes)

Salvation is a supernatural work of God whereby someone really does become a new creature.

Preach The Word!

In continuing with my laziness of posting videos instead of actually taking the time to write something, here are two clips of two very different styles of preaching.

In one clip you will see a preacher preach the word of God, telling us that we are nothing, that we deserve nothing, that we deserve hell, and that we are literally destitute (this is exactly what the Bible teaches); that of course is not the end… well just watch the video. This is real powerful clip from Paul Washer. Continue reading

Standing Firm On The Gospel

What follows here are three clips of people who have had the chance to go on Larry King Live. These three people say that they are Christians. All three are pastors of churches in the United States.

Larry King Live has over one million viewers every night, with most nights having well over a million. So, when a pastor has a chance to go on the show, he potentially has the chance to impact over a million lives. When this happens, shouldn’t that pastor speak the truth? I mean, he has an opportunity that is rare to say the least. This is his chance to speak the true gospel of Christ.

I have inserted clips from Joel Osteen, author and pastor of Lakewood Church in Texas, Al Mohler, author and president of Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Kentucky, and John MacArthur, author and pastor of Grace Community Church in California. Continue reading

So…Joel Osteen released a Bible huh?

I actually wish this was a joke, but sadly it is not.  Joel Osteen has written the “Hope for Today Bible.” Here is part of the description from the publisher:

“We are who the Bible says we are, we can have what it says we can have, and we can do all that it promises we can do.”

Well, as I see it, the Bible says that I am a sinner who has fallen short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23), and what I deserve is death (Romans 6:23), but because God is a just God of mercy, He sent His Son to die for me so that I might live (John 3:16, Romans 5:8). Yes indeed, Christ became sin for us so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God (2 Corinthians 5:21).  However, to receive this gift of life that we don’t deserve, we have to deny ourselves and follow Him (Mark 8:34). We have to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ (Acts 16:31). Continue reading

Is God Causing This Recession?

Obviously, I don’t have to explain the economy as it looks today. However, I don’t think that we have seen the worst of it yet.

People want to blame it on the president (no matter who it is or who it is going to be), but the president is only one person who has no control over the economy. Congress isn’t going to act on anything soon enough. Although, it does seem convenient to blame someone else, doesn’t it?

The question for now: is God causing this recession? Consider this passage from Romans: Continue reading

Why I Hate Joel Osteen’s Preaching

This piece is purely an opinion on my part about why I hate Joel Osteen’s preaching. You say “Whoa, hate is a little harsh isn’t it?” No, I do not believe it is because Joel Osteen is a false preacher and his preaching has the dangerous potential of leading people away from the God of the Bible. PLEASE don’t misunderstand what I am saying here. I do NOT hate Joel Osteen. That is not what I said. I said I hate his preaching. Now let me explain my point.

It is our responsibility to spread the gospel that Jesus Christ is the only way to true salvation, that we are all dead in sin. Salvation is about the glory of God. Joel Osteen doesn’t preach this. In my opinion, the thing that makes Joel Osteen a false preacher is the fact that he does not preach the true gospel – or I should say he does not preach the true purpose of the gospel.

Why Atheism Does Not Exist

Notice how I titled this thing “Why Atheism Does Not Exist,” and not “Why I Believe Atheism Does Not Exist.” I did this because it is not only what I believe, it is also because it is a fact.

The Bible does not acknowledge atheism in any form. The Bible says that all men know that there is a God. Where does it say this you ask? Well, I am glad you asked.

Romans 1:19-20 tells us “because that which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse.”
