How Great Is Our God – Part 5

If you were reading this blog back in the beginning of 2008, this will make more sense than if you weren’t. From January 2008 to April 2008, I posted a series of blogs titled, “How Great Is Our God.” The purpose of these was to look more in depth at the attributes of God. Obviously, there are so many, so I want to post another part in this title series. This part is going to look at the Sovereignty of God.

The sovereignty of God is the absolute authority, rule, and government of God in the whole of the reality that exists distinct from Himself. It respects His relation to other beings and to all other being and existence.

Take My Life

Take My Life. It’s a statement, it’s a prayer, it’s a song, it’s a plea. Take my life is a worship song sung by Chris Tomlin. I first heard this song maybe 2 or 3 years ago when I was in college. I was a student at the University of Tennessee – an openly non-Christian school. UT is always on the list of the top twenty party schools in the country. At one time it made it up to somewhere in the top ten. There were fliers posted around campus with the theme of “Let’s make this the number one party school in the country.” Professors would cut class short because so that we could make “happy hour.” Professors would give extra credit for a six pack. Yeah you get my drift. Obviously this school, and the values it promotes, are not Christian. Continue reading

How Great Is Our God – Introduction

I have decided to begin 2008 by broadening this blog experience a bit. I am going to start a centrally focused series on the greatness of God.I have titled this series, “How Great Is Our God” not only because it is a fantastic Chris Tomlin song, but because I genuinely want you to ask yourself that question, as I am doing the same. It is amazing what you can find out!

Through this series, I will be examining the greatness of God through different aspects of His character and His attributes. I cannot honestly say what I will find out as I am not planning out what I will write. I will write as God leads. I am just praying right now that I don’t make a potential life or death mistake in misinterpreting God’s word.
