On Justin Taylor’s blog, there is a video from Rob Bell promoting his new book, Love Wins.
In case you don’t know Rob Bell, he is the leader of Mars Hill Bible Church in Michigan. He started Mars Hill in 1999 and in an article in Christianity Today, he states in part, “We’re rediscovering Christianity as an Eastern religion, as a way of life. Legal metaphors for faith don’t deliver a way of life…”
My thought on this is, if you have to “rediscover” Chrisitianity, what exactly are you discovering? Are you saying that historical Christianity is wrong? Where is your scriptural basis to back up your theory?
Rob Bell has written multiple books such as Velvet Elvis: Repainting the Christian Faith, Jesus Wants to Save Christians: A Manifesto for the Church in Exile, among others.
In this new video regarding his new book, Rob Bell reveals a lot about what he believes, whether or not he explicitly states it or not. Bell asks the question, “Will only a few select people make it to heaven? And will billion and billions of people burn forever in hell? If that’s the case, how do you become one of the few?”
The video is posted below for you to watch for yourself. I think that Rob Bell is trying to explain that love wins. (This is me without having read the book.)
One important thing to remember… God is love and he created His world from love. God’s love is unconditional and never ending. However, before God is love, above all else… God is holy. If we overlook that truth, then nothing else matters.

Though I don’t know Rob Bell, I do know that there is a biblical case for everyone going to heaven: http://wp.me/PNthc-i6
It exalts Jesus Christ and gives Him His rightful place as the only Savior of humanity.
